Headless is a performance art project by Swedish duo goldin+senneby. Since 2007 they have orchestrated an expansive and open ended investigation of an offshore company called Headless Ltd., which may or may not exist, and which may or may not be connected to the secret society created in the 1930s by Georges Bataille called Acephale (Headless). Since 2008 I have acted as the project’s spokesperson or emissary, standing in for the artists whenever a public exhibition, lecture or performance related to the project is staged. As well as appearing in person, I also appear as a semi-fictional character in a novel – Looking for Headless – that weaves real events from the project into a slightly trashy, tongue-in-cheek murder mystery.
